ABOUT
Carla Walter MMS, PA-C
I’ve been a practicing Physician Assistant for over ten years, with the majority of my career spent in family medicine.
Over time, my work in primary care deepened my interest in metabolic and preventive health — and how these systems intersect with hormones, mental well-being, and daily life. I’ve pursued additional training in obesity medicine and menopause care to offer more nuanced, individualized support in these complex areas of health.
I’m detail-oriented by nature and value thoughtful evaluation. I believe patients deserve to understand the reasoning behind their care so recommendations feel informed, realistic, and aligned with their lives.
My Philosophy
I believe meaningful care begins with feeling genuinely listened to.
My approach is centered on understanding the why behind symptoms and working collaboratively to create care plans that are both evidence-based and achievable. Health doesn’t exist in isolation, and effective care must account for physical health, mental well-being, and the realities of daily life.
At TideShift Health, visits are designed to feel supportive, unrushed, and grounded in partnership. My goal is to help patients feel informed and empowered — meeting them where they are and guiding them forward with clarity, compassion, and respect for what’s sustainable.
We work together to help connect the dots between metabolic, hormonal, and emotional health.

Metabolic Health & Weight Care
My approach to metabolic health is evidence-based and individualized — focused on uncovering root causes, building on your body’s strengths, and using tools like medication, nutrition, and lifestyle support to help you reach your goals.
Together, we set goals that reflect what health means to you, recognizing that progress and wellness look different for every body. -

Mental Health
I approach mental health with the same whole-person perspective and with a trauma-informed lens.
I have a special interest in supporting individuals with neurodiverse superpowers — like ADHD — and helping them thrive in their own rhythm. -

Women's Hormones
My passion for women’s hormone health grew from listening to patients share how their bodies and moods shifted through life’s transitions — changes that often paralleled shifts in their metabolic and emotional health.
